Victor Oladipo logged his second game of the season for the Miami Heat on Wednesday in a 111-90 loss to the Phoenix Suns. The 29-year-old veteran was not as impressive as he was in his debut, but what's important is that Oladipo continues to take steps in the right direction towards a return to full strength.

Oladipo's comeback becomes even more impressive once you consider what this man has been subjected to over the past few years. Back in 2019, the 6-foot-4 combo guard suffered a career-threatening knee injury that resulted in him missing an extended period for the Indiana Pacers. Oladipo recently opened up about his injury and apparently, the pain he had to endure was unimaginable (h/t Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald):

Oladipo just mentioned that after first knee injury in 2019, he felt he had “a permanent knife” in his knee. That's how limiting it was. No longer. Knee felt good first couple days since his Monday season debut.

Oladipo was coming off back-to-back All-Star seasons when he suffered that knee injury and it was an undeniably brutal blow for his career. The Heat veteran sustained a myriad of other injuries in the succeeding years, including a quad injury that left him on the shelf for the past 11 months.

As the above report states, however, Oladipo's knee has now improved significantly. It's not yet back to full strength, but it's just great to see this hard-working dude back on the court.
