Playoff games vary greatly from regular season games. Players are more physical, they dive on every loose ball situation, and they foul a little harder. And whenever they have a chance, they talk trash — a bit dirtier than usual.

In Game 2 between the Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers, Justise Winslow took a charge on Ben Simmons. The referee called it and Winslow had a few choice words for Simmons.

Looking at the video, perhaps Winslow may have sold the call a little bit. Though we can give him credit for moving his feet, not fearful of the 6'10” Simmons charging at him.

There is no documented rivalry between the two. Winslow just has the competitive spirit burning in him that's why those expletives spilled out of his mouth. Taking a charge from an elite player is a victory in itself. Superstars like Simmons usually get the benefit of the call.

Since coming to the NBA as the 10th overall pick in 2016, Winslow has made steady strides. He made the NBA All-Rookie Second team in his first year. Come his second year, he was out for most of the season due to an injury.

Winslow recognized that having two superstars in the team might have limited his playing time. For him, if he was given more minutes, he could've been one of the top players in his batch. Yet this doesn't bother him that much.

As reported by Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Winslow said:

“Coming into a team with five, six All-Stars, two or three Hall-of-Famers [Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh] is a little different. You need more time to grow and build that confidence. That doesn’t bother me. Kobe Bryant was picked 10th.”
