The Charlotte Hornets gave Isaiah Thomas another chance at returning to the NBA recently, signing him to a 10-day contract. After impressing James Borrego and serving as a leader for this young squad, the Hornets have awarded IT with another one.

Via Rod Boone:

This is great news for Thomas and very well deserved. In 13.7 minutes per night, IT is averaging 9.7 points on a 43% three-point clip. Talk about efficiency. In the Hornets' 142-120 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night, the veteran guard certainly made his presence felt, pouring in 14 points off the bench.

Charlotte doesn't have a lot of older players who bring a lot of experience to the table. Gordon Hayward is certainly one, but he's now injured again. There is no doubt this team is brimful of young talent, but it always helps to have a veteran presence on and off the court. IT is just that. He's been around the league for a hot minute and has seen it all.

Before linking up with the Hornets, Thomas played out 10-days with the struggling Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks. He then showed out in the G-League, averaging 41.3 points in three games. That's exactly when the NBA came calling again. The numbers speak for themselves.

Hopefully, IT can continue to do his part and potentially secure a deal for the remainder of the season, which has only about a month left.
