The Charlotte Hornets have put in place a new front office with hopes of helping turn around the franchise from back-to-back seasons where the team has fallen short of reaching the playoffs. It has brought into question what the organization plans on doing with the current roster as constructed over the upcoming offseason.

Charlotte how now missed the playoffs in three out of the last four years and looks to be trending south with a possible need to shake things up. According to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, general manager Mitch Kupchak stated on Friday morning that he doesn't plan on restructuring the roster entirely in the coming months.

Much of this speculation has centered around All-Star point guard Kemba Walker being in trade rumors this past season ahead of the trade deadline. It marked the first time in his career that his name has been tossed around as possibly being on the move.

Walker has been the cornerstone player of the franchise as the leading offensive scoring punch while bringing a tremendous amount of stability in the backcourt. However, that hasn't translated to any real success over the last two years with back-to-back 36-win campaigns that pushed them well out of the playoff picture.

The Hornets have a stable core group to build around Walker, Dwight Howard, and Nicolas Batum, but this roster as currently constructed needs a shakeup in some sort of manner to push the franchise in the right direction. Kupchak will likely look into getting some feasible offers to help create a fresh sense of direction for Charlotte to take that step forward into once again being back in the playoffs.

With the offseason still a few months away, the Hornets can further assess their situation to determine what plan of action is best to put the team back on the right track in the 2018-19 season.
