Charlotte Hornets center Dwight Howard reached another significant milestone in his storied career. He grabbed six defensive rebounds in the Hornets’ 101-87 loss to the Golden State Warriors, which were enough to see him pass Shaquille O’Neal for ninth place in the all-time defensive rebounds list.

In typical Howard fashion, he didn’t let the opportunity pass to tag Shaq in his reply to the Hornets’ tweet regarding his impressive milestone.

Dwight Howard and Shaquille O'Neal have had an interesting relationship over the years. The latter had been unusually hard on the former early in his career for some strange reason. Perhaps it was because he felt Dwight wasn't living up to his true potential, or maybe because Howard went too far in stealing O'Neal's goofball “Superman” schtick. Regardless of the reason, the two have a history.

But while things have cooled down between the two in the last year or so, Dwight Howard still couldn’t help but poke fun at his old nemesis after passing him in the defensive rebounding charts despite playing five fewer seasons. Howard was a terrific rebounder in his prime, leading the NBA in rebounding five times between 2008 and 2013.

After firing the first shot, though, the Hornets center better beware of some sort of retribution coming from Shaq, who is not one to let things slide so easily.
