Charlotte Hornets forward PJ Washington is having a heckuva rookie campaign so far, and his latest highlight comes at the expense of the Oklahoma City Thunder big man Nerlens Noel and rookie Darius Bazley.

The 21-year-old Kentucky product swooped in for a reverse layup past Bazley and Noel, who weren't quick enough to deflect the smooth shot.

PJ Washington was selected by the Hornets with the 12th overall pick in last June's draft. He's currently a legitimate top-five Rookie of the Year candidate through two months of the 2019-20 NBA season, averaging 12.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 40.6 percent from 3-point range.

Neither the Hornets nor the Thunder are top teams in the league this year, but both squads feature fun and young talent. Although Bazley was on the wrong end of the highlight clip here, the high school-to-pros power forward is one of the more interesting stories in the NBA due to his “internship” gap year.

Washington got the better of him this time around.
