When the results of some of the awards given during the inaugural NBA Awards Show on Monday night were revealed, there were no outlandish surprises that no one saw coming. Some of the surprises came earlier in the day when the NBA announced the members of the first and second All-Defensive Teams, where the exclusion of Avery Bradley was questioned by many players considering the fact that he's regarded as one of the best defenders at the guard position. For some who received unexpected votes, they found it hilarious and wanted to share a few laughs with their fans.

That’s exactly what Boston Celtics All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas did, as he took to his Twitter account to give a shout-out to his lone voter to be named part of the elite team. He even went as far as joking that he is a third-team member, and that whoever voted for him certainly knows what real defense means.

There is no doubt that IT is a very talented player, but he has made a name for himself as a big time scorer and vocal leader for his team, rather than an on-ball defender and stopper. Even he could not believe he received a vote, and just took with his sense of humor.

That was not the only award he received a vote for either, as he also finished fifth in the MVP race, which Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook won.
