The son of one of the most iconic NBA legends, named like his father, Moses Malone Jr, has reportedly sued Houston Rockets star James Harden.

Malone Jr. filed a suit alleging “Harden paid a group of people $20,000 in cash to attack and rob Malone at V-Live strip club last year,” according to Isiah Carey of Fox 26 in Houston.

This suit notes that the Rockets star was upset Malone Jr. had criticized his decision to charge children for a basketball camp, thus responding by orchestrating said robbery.

Harden's attorney, Rusty Hardin, responded to the allegations despite being occupied with other matters.

“I am in Boston for depositions so I haven't seen the petition, but I have previously discussed Moses' allegations with James and others, and I am totally comfortable that the allegations are untrue,” according to Carey. “Unfortunately, I am afraid this is just another example of people shopping for a deep pocket when they find that the people actually responsible have no money.”

George Farah, Malone Jr.'s lawyer, said his client's Facebook post, which criticized Harden “basically referenced the fact that James Harden was charging $250 for a basketball camp,” according to Marla Carter of ABC 13 in Houston.

Other big-name stars such as Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant have their camps priced around the same range, while players of less stature in the league offer more comfortable rates.

Carter also reported in July 2016 that police had charged four men with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon from the incident. Malone Jr. said he was robbed of $15,000 in jewelry back then.

In a direct tie-in to the event, William Axford of the Houston Chronicle cited some court documents of 2016 which said one of the attackers had told Malone he had “disrespected James Harden and that he needs to be punished after that.”

Axford's report notes a vastly different amount of jewelry stolen — $50,000 worth, along with his cell phone, credit card and car keys — the latter two were returned to him at the scene.
