Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell says his new point guard, Mike Conley, is “very underrated.”

The Jazz acquired Conley on Wednesday from the Memphis Grizzlies. Mitchell is excited to learn from the veteran, who has a ton of playoff experience under his belt.

“He's a great player,” Mitchell told USA TODAY Sports. “He’s very underrated in my opinion. He does a lot of getting into the lane and being able to find guys and also I can learn a lot from him.”

Conley is a big upgrade over Ricky Rubio, who won't be returning to the Jazz now. Conley averaged 21.1 points and 6.4 assists per game this past season with the Grizzlies while shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and 84.5 percent from the free-throw line. Rubio, meanwhile, put up 12.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists for the Jazz in 2018-19.

Conley is a better shooter, defender and scorer than Rubio. The Jazz now have two dynamic scorers in the backcourt in Mitchell and Conley, as well as an elite center in Rudy Gobert.

There's no reason why Utah shouldn't be a top three team in the West next season, especially considering the Golden State Warriors won't be at full strength for much of the 2019-20 campaign.
