Rodney Hood has been in the center of trade chatter leading up to Thursday's NBA trade deadline, drawing interest from the Chicago Bulls, the Detroit Pistons, and the Oklahoma City Thunder, among others.

But the lefty sharpshooter has been rather unaware of the trade chatter, but noted he knew the Bulls were interested in him due to a great workout he had, back in 2014.

“Yeah, I knew throughout the draft process,” Hood told Stephen Noh of The Athletic. “I was just working out there. I had a good workout there, got to know the coaching staff and management a little bit. I had a good feeling but they went in a different direction.”

The Bulls were owners of the 16th and 19th picks in the 2014 draft but ended up using them as part of a package to snatch Creighton forward Doug McDermott with the 11th overall pick. Hood was later taken by the Jazz with the 23rd pick.

“[Chicago] was a spot that I thought I actually was going to land on draft night, at 16,” Hood said.

The fourth-year pro had the best game of the season, exploding for a game-high 30 points off the bench, hitting 12 of his 14 shots, including four threes, as the Jazz blew out the New Orleans Pelicans 133-109.

Hood has been mired by inconsistent play throughout his career, which has made his time with the organization likely run out for the time being, as he's been dangled in talks for the past few weeks.

He is averaging a career-high 16.8 points along with 2.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, now shooting a career-best 42.4 percent from the floor and 39.7 percent from the 3-point line after yesterday's fireworks.
