Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has earned a $1 million bonus for making the All-Star team.
Gobert was announced as a Western Conference reserve on Thursday. This is Gobert's first All-Star appearance:
In 45 games for the Jazz this season, Gobert is averaging 15.7 points, 14.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.0 blocks. The two-time reigning Defensive Player of the Year is shooting 68.6 percent from the field and has 36 double-doubles.
Gobert was emotional after missing the All-Star game last season, so the Jazz have to be happy their starting big man will be heading to Chicago this season along with shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, who is also playing in his first All-Star game.
The Jazz signed Gobert to a four-year, $102 million extension in October of 2016. He's making $24,258,427 this season and owed $25,775,281 in 2020-21.
