We all knew the Utah Jazz was shopping fourth-year guard Rodney Hood. But few people saw this many teams interested in getting him. According to Tony Jones from the Salt Lake Tribune, “In all, as many as 15 teams have called the Jazz concerning shooting guard Rodney Hood.” Jones had previously reported that Hood is the most likely Jazz player to be moved. Utah is looking for at least a first-round pick in exchange for the 25-year old.

With so much interest in Hood, the Jazz are looking to maximize the return for him. The team hit a home run in last year's draft with Rookie of the Year frontrunner Donovan Mitchell and has backup shooting guard Alec Burks, so trading Hood away will not immediately leave the Jazz with a big void to fill.

Hood spoke about the trade rumors and addressed his situation. According to Yahoo! Sports' Shams Charania, Hood said:

“For my family, for my loved ones, my priority is to have a job and perform. I’ve had great times in Utah, but regardless of where I’m playing, whether it’s there or somewhere else, I’m going to stay professional. I’m going to stick with it.

Hood has a bold prediction on his situation come Feb. 8:

“My gut feeling is that I won’t be [with the Jazz] by the deadline. I’ve enjoyed my time here, but I’ve felt isolated the past month and I would not be surprised if I was moved.

Hood averages a career-high 16.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 42.4 percent shooting from the field and 39.7 percent shooting from 3-point land. The best offer for a player with these stats and on the verge of hitting restricted free agency should have a first-round pick attached to it. However, with the driest market in a bunch of years, the Jazz might be forced to just take the best offer they receive.
