Barely a few weeks into their offseason and already, the Utah Jazz have had a major shake-up in their front office. Long-time president for basketball operations Dennis Lindsey is out, with general manager Justin Zanik now reportedly calling the shots at the top. As it turns out, however, there appears to be much more to this overhaul than what we can all see on the surface.

Andy Larsen and Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribute have come out with an exposé piece on what really happened behind the scenes within the Jazz organization. For starters, the revamp is reportedly new team owner Ryan Smith's attempt to “put his stamp on his organization.”

According to the report, the primary reason behind the team's (or Smith's) decision to fire Lindsey is his not-so-pleasant relationship with Jazz head coach Quin Snyder. It was actually Lindsey who hired Snyder in 2014, but the fact that their relationship has deteriorated through the years has led to “distrust between the pair that impacted day-to-day Jazz operations.”

Disputes between Lindsey and Snyder included player rotations, personnel recruitment, draft selections, improper communication, as well as general “disagreements over who oversaw various off-court issues.” In the end, Smith placed more value over Snyder and decided to keep him on board and consequently, give Lindsey the ax.

It is also worth noting that former Boston Celtics president Danny Ainge has reportedly already interviewed with the Jazz. He could be Utah's next hire, which should be a huge step towards their quest to establish a proper leadership structure within the organization.
