Friday night was Utah Jazz veteran point guard Mike Conley's first game back in Memphis to face his old team the Grizzlies.

Prior to tip-off, the Grizzlies displayed a tribute video to the 32-year-old floor general who spent his first 12 seasons in Memphis as a nice gesture (via The Athletic's Omari Sankofa on Twitter).

Conley was traded by the Grizzlies in the offseason when they selected Murray State phenom point guard Ja Morant with the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft for four players and a 2020 protected first-round draft pick, officially ending the Grit ‘n' Grind era of the franchise.

Conley struggled at first with the Jazz to start the season—shooting horrendously—but more recently has begun to gel nicely with rising star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell.

With Memphis, Conely was a part of a special group of players that consistently made the postseason and played tough-nosed basketball for a decade.
