The New York Jets' coaching staff under Adam Gase just keeps getting better, as the team is expected to hire Dolphins offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains for the same position in the Big Apple.

The incoming Jets offensive coordinator received permission from the Miami Dolphins to speak with other teams and said that they wouldn't block him if he chose to exit the organization. So, it looks like Loggains will be calling New York home soon.

According to SNY, this new potential hire means nothing but good things for the team. Loggains had, of course, worked with Adam Gase before. Back in 2015, when he was the quarterbacks' coach for the Chicago Bears, Gase was the offensive coordinator. So, they are certainly familiar with one another's styles of coaching.

When Gase was brought to Miami, Loggains filled in for Gase with the Bears. And two years after Gase went to Miami, he brought Loggains in as the offensive coordinator.

There are a few things to be concerned about with this potential hire by New York.  In addition to previously being an advocate of drafting Johnny Manziel while with the Cleveland Browns, he was voted as the worst play-caller in the NFL while in Chicago.

The Jets have already indicated that Gase will introduce his own system and is going to be responsible for the play calling. So, it makes sense that he would bring on someone he can clearly trust like Loggains, regardless of any potential controversies — or not — surrounding his desired hire. This is a case of “wait and see,” to be sure.
