The New York Jets have had a tumultuous week, particularly when talking about the quarterback position. Earlier this week, the Jets placed quarterback Mike White on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

White failed one of his recent COVID tests. The Jets also placed newly acquired Joe Flacco on the reserve/COVID list, deeming him a close contact of White's.

Luckily for New York, rookie quarterback Zach Wilson is considered healthy enough to return from his PCL injury. Wilson missed the last four weeks of action.

Obviously, you need more than one healthy quarterback on your roster. So, earlier this week the Jets promoted veteran quarterback Josh Johnson from the practice squad. That is what makes Wednesday's move so surprising.

The New York Jets signed another quarterback, the 5th. The Jets signed QB James Morgan to the practice squad. Morgan was a 2020 draft pick of the Jets that they previously cut, according to ESPN NFL Nation reporter Rich Cimini.

New York now has Mike White, Joe Flacco, Zach Wilson, Josh Johnson and James Morgan as quarterbacks on their roster.

Wilson gets the start Sunday and looks to improve upon his rough start to the season. He threw nine interceptions and was sacked 19 times in the first five plus games of the season. His performance was a bit unexpected as Wilson looked great during the preseason.

Wilson has a chance to turn that around Sunday as the Jets travel to Houston to face off with the Texans. The Texans have one of the league's worst defenses.
