In recent news, the New York Jets placed a second-round tender on Robby Anderson. Newly hired head coach, Adam Gase, has shown he is very excited to work with him in New York.

In an article with ESPN's Rich Cimini, Gase talks about how he has watched plenty of tape of the Jets' 2018 season. One thing that stood out to him was Anderson's ability to be a deep threat.

“You don't see a whole bunch of guys who have what he has and the way he tracks the ball down the field,” Gase said. “I don't think I've ever been around a player that does it as smooth.”

This is coming from a guy in Gase who has coached the likes of Alshon Jeffery, Demaryius Thomas, and Jarvis Landry. Gase also talked about how he hopes to add more variety to the offense by allowing Anderson to be more than just a deep threat.

Anderson had a decent season in 2018, where he totaled 752 yards on 50 receptions and six touchdowns. His main role was to be the offense's go-to-guy when it came to taking a shot downfield.

It seems like that could change in 2019, as Gase would like to turn Anderson into more of a well-rounded wideout, while still allowing him to make big plays with his speed downfield.

Hopefully, Gase and company can help Anderson improve on his off the field issues as well. Last offseason, Anderson was facing nine charges that included reckless driving, resisting an officer, harm to a public servant, among others.

The comments of Gase raving over Anderson are ensuring though if you are a Jets fan. Let's hope the Jets can get the most out of Anderson this season and he can stay out of trouble this offseason.
