While it appears as though the New York Jets have been linked to just about every free agent on the open market this offseason, the AFC East franchise has already begun making moves. After initially inking former Washington Redskins wide receiver Jamison Crowder to a deal earlier in the day on Monday, New York has now reportedly bringing former Chicago Bears wide out Josh Bellamy on board as well.

According to a Monday evening report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com and NFL Network, the Jets are close to signing Bellamy, who was not retained by the aforementioned Bears this offseason. The newly inked pact is expected to be for two years while Bellamy will reportedly earn up to $7 million alongside $2.75 million in fully guaranteed money.

While it may come as a surprise that Bellamy received a multi-year deal so early in free agency, it is also worth noting that the veteran wide out is widely considered to be a special teams ace.

Despite the fact that the Jets have already added a pair of wide receivers as a result of the early portion of free agency, the team continues to eye a running back as well. With former Atlanta Falcons running back Tevin Coleman serving as a viable option, the majority of the Jets' interest lies with former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell so it appears.

However, Bell could garner huge money, which could throw a wrench in the Jets' plans — unless New York coughs up some serious dough, that is.
