The New York Jets are from from done with roster moves as they continue to wheel and deal ahead of the NFL trade deadline. One of their many plans may have come to an unexpected end, with defensive end Quinnen Williams suffering a hamstring injury on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Williams, like many other players that occupy the Jets roster, found himself amidst trade rumors ahead of the Tuesday deadline. He recently stated that the rumors had little effect on his play.

“It was cool,” said Quinnen Williams pertaining to the conversation head coach Adam Gase and general manager Joe Douglas had with him in regards to ending his worries on being traded. “I really didn’t see it in the media or look at it in the media. So when they told me, I was just like, ‘Bet.' It didn’t really change how I felt about the team, how I felt about the organization, I just want to work hard and do what I can do on Sundays.”

Williams' rookie season was cut short of its rightful time, as he saw limited action after suffering a high ankle sprain. He has been an effective leader on defense this season, however. In seven games for the Jets, he has already matched his total number of tackles for the entire 2019-20 season. The 22-year old was able to pull in three more tackles on Sunday as well, boosting his total for the season to 31–18 of which were solo.

As for the Jets, they remain winless after Week 8, signaling that they'll be even busier than expected ahead of the deadline.
