Zach Wilson didn't have the most ideal stint in his rookie season with the New York Jets. But while he's eager to improve his skills this offseason, it seems he also wants to improve his social life.
In a report by the New York Post, the Jets quarterback was seen hanging out on a beach in Miami with teammate Braxton Berrios. But eagle-eyed observers also couldn't help but notice the bikini-clad blonde keeping Wilson and Berrios company.
The series of photos will only fuel more speculation that Wilson and his longtime girlfriend Abbey Gile have indeed called it quits. Last January, fans of the Jets youngster noticed that he and Gile have both deleted photos of them together from their Instagram accounts. The 22-year-old Wilson, however, has remained silent about it.
While it's very much possible that the woman in question is just a friend or someone Wilson and Berrios randomly met during their beach trip, rumors will surely be flying around.
What's clear though is that Wilson will have to really buckle down to work (he and Berrios also trained in Miami) if he wants to improve on his freshman campaign in the NFL. A lot of hype surrounded him after the Jets picked him as the no. 2 overall pick out of BYU. But after the Jets' dismal 4-13 season, much was left to be desired.
Wilson has shown flashes of brilliance, but he needs to be consistent. If not, he'll have another early vacation.
