Despite giving him limited playing time, the New York Jets have reportedly turned down all trade offers for wide receiver Denzel Mims, according to NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo.

Mims, a 23-year-old second-year player whose combine numbers were comperable to those of Julio Jones according to Garafolo, was inactive last week and appears to be inactive for the Jets' week 3 matchup with the Denver Broncos despite being healthy. Garafolo says the team's hesitancy to play the young gun stems from the fact that he's in a deep position group and has yet to learn other positions in order to play on special teams. Even so, he says they see a bright future for him and do not intend to deal him.

“As much as the Jets' coaching staff is being a little hard on Mims right now and they're not using him, the people in that organization, certainly Joe Douglas and the front office, still believe in Denzel Mims,” Garafolo said on Good Morning Football. “They said ‘nope, he's not available via trade right now.' We'll see what comes of Mims in the future.”

The Jets took Mims with the no. 59 overall pick in the 2020 draft. He made First-Team All-Big 12 in 2019 at Baylor.

Mims played nine games for the Jets last season, recording 23 receptions for 357 yards.
