The Boston Celtics hold the most intrigue among all Eastern Conference teams.
They were able to make very solid additions in Al Horford and Jaylen Brown, they maintain their chemistry, and they still have tradeable assets at hand should the need arise.
A consequence of having a stacked roster is the inevitability of letting someone go. In an article by A. Sherrod Blakely for CSNNE.com, one player was deemed to be the most traceable: Kelly Olynyk.
With the exit of Jared Sullinger to Toronto, it’s only natural that someone gets to take his minutes. But the problem for Olynyk is that someone will not only take Sullinger’s floor time, but he will need more, and that is All-Star center Al Horford.
The Canadian will probably get more time on the court than Tyler Zeller. It makes sense. Olynyk is more talented, but that fact might just be the boot that will get him out of Boston. His potential makes him more attractive to teams than Zeller.
Last season, he averaged 10.0 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting the ball well from long distance at 40 percent. He played 20 minutes per game last year, but a slight bump in that area will be very beneficial for his stats to get better.
However, he’s not going to receive that additional time in Boston.
