With plenty of teams looking to claim that eighth and final spot in the West, Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton has been keeping a positive mindset, believing that his team still has a chance to qualify for the playoffs.

The Kings notched their first victory in the bubble on Thursday against the New Orleans Pelicans. They are now 1-3 and are two and a half games behind the Memphis Grizzlies, the team which currently holds the eighth spot. Walton tagged this victory as a momentum builder in the final four games.

“We are still in it,” Kings coach Luke Walton said, per Sports Illustrated. “You never know. We've got four more games, and there's a big group of teams right there, so we're playing to win these (games) and trying to give ourselves the best chance to get into a playoff, and I thought today was a good step forward.”

Apart from the Kings, several other teams are looking to snag that final ticket to the playoffs. These are the Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, and the Pelicans.

While the Grizzlies hold the eighth spot, they are currently 0-4 in the bubble. The Trail Blazers are becoming top favorites to snatch that final ticket as they hold a 3-1 record. However, the Suns are creeping from behind as they remain undefeated.

The Kings' chances are very low. Not only do they need to win all the games, but the other teams need to lose all theirs. Amid all this, Walton's hope is well-intact. He knows how crazy things can get in the NBA.
