One of the best team trainers in the NBA today is Timmy Walsh of the Brooklyn Nets. His career spans three decades, which is a big reason why he is well respected throughout the league, by players, coaches, and team personnel alike. He also has good relationships with almost everyone, and has experienced a number of memorable, and even hilarious moments with them in the past.

That includes an instance where New York Knicks swingman Courtney Lee went to the wrong arena before a home game. The veteran trainer then recalled, via Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, that the 32-year-old Western Kentucky product called him to say that there’s no one from the team at Barclays Center, and he had to remind him that their game will be played at a different arena.

Sometimes that involved covering up an innocent mistake, like when Courtney Lee, formerly with the Nets, went to the wrong arena for a home game. “(Lee) calls me and says, ‘I’m at MSG. There’s nobody here,'” Walsh recalled. “I say, ‘That’s because the game is at the Izod Center.'”

It is indeed one of the funnier stories to share about what players go through during a long season. It also goes to show that they are like regular people as well, and could be caught up in situations such as the one he shared.

There are definitely some more that Walsh will not forget, and it will be very interesting to find out about them all someday, should he be interviewed again, or even write a book based on his professional career.
