New York Knicks guard Frank Ntilikina has been cleared to return to practice, according to Marc Berman of The New York Post. Ntilikina will practice with the Knicks' G-League team on Tuesday because the NBA team is off.

Berman adds that Ntilikina has not been completely ruled out for New York's game against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night depending on how he looks in practice.

Ntilikina has been sidelined since late January with a groin injury.

In 41 games this season, he is averaging 5.9 points, 2.8 assists and two rebounds over 21.3 minutes per game while shooting 34.2 percent from the floor, 29.1 percent from three-point range and 75 percent from the free-throw line.

The 20-year-old was originally selected by the Knicks with the eighth overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft.

He appeared in 78 contests during his rookie campaign, registering 5.9 points, 3.2 assists and 2.3 boards across 21.9 minutes a night while making 36.4 percent of his field-goal attempts, 31.8 percent of his long-distance tries and 72.1 percent of his foul shots.

While Ntilikina is certainly a fine defender, his lack of progression offensively has been concerning for New York, so much so that it was rumored that the Knicks were deciding whether or not they should deal him at the trade deadline last month.

Still, given the fact that Ntilikina is so young, it's only right for the Knicks to give him another opportunity, although the fact that he has actually regressed a bit this season is a bit worrisome.

New York last played on Monday night, falling to the Toronto Raptors by a score of 128-92.
