Frank Ntilikina has been disappointing for the New York Knicks thus far into his sophomore campaign. Though he is a fantastic defender, his ability to hit from deep or create any of his own offense hasn't been there.

Despite his flaws and far less convincing performances, however, head coach David Fizdale isn't giving up on his point guard just yet.

Frank Ntilikina has been benched in favor of the team's veterans, but he has taken the criticisms in stride — a characteristic which impressed David Fizdale.

“He’s a pro, man,” Fizdale told Marc Berman of New York Post.

“He says, ‘Coach, don’t you worry about that.’ That’s how he talks. He says, ‘I don’t want you to worry about that. I know you are going to get me back in there at some point and I won’t let you down.’”

So far this season for the Knicks, Ntilikina has averaged 6.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game while shooting only 34.6 percent from the field and 29.0 percent from deep. His offensive numbers have been quite awful, and he certainly needs to polish his game more to develop into a starting quality NBA guard.

The Knicks are 9-26 on the season and sit 13th in the NBA's Eastern Conference.
