There is no love lost between Kristaps Porzingis and his former team, the New York Knicks. Porzingis and the Dallas Mavericks were in Madison Square Garden on Friday night, and the home fans in attendance made sure to let their feelings about the 7-foot-3 big man known.

Here's a clip of a rowdy Knicks crowd showering their former star with some “KP Sucks” chants early in the ballgame (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):

That's no way to welcome a former star, right? Then again, these are the ruthless Knicks fans we're talking about here, so honestly, this does not come as a shocker.

The last time Porzingis dawned on a Knicks jersey was in 2019. This was before New York sent him to the Mavs (along with Tim Hardaway Jr., Trey Burke, and Courtney Lee) as part of a blockbuster deal that saw DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews, Dennis Smith Jr., and two future first-round picks heading in the direction of the Knicks. Porzingis was not happy in New York and the Knicks organization and was vocal about leaving the team. Dave Fizdale who was the head coach for the Knicks during his tenure said that Porzingis left the organization with no other option than to move him. For what it's worth, one of those future first-rounders is for the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft so that's something to keep an eye on.

The Knicks snagged KP from the draft back in 2015 as their (rather controversial) fourth overall pick. He spent four years in New York, including one full season on the shelf due to an ACL injury before packing his bags for Dallas. Porzingis was not happy in New York and the Knicks organization and was vocal about leaving the team.
