The New York Knicks got a brutal injury update ahead of their Friday night matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies. Cam Reddish is out for the remainder of the season due to a recent right shoulder separation.

NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted the news Thursday afternoon.

The young small forward suffered the season-ending injury in the Knicks' win over the Sacramento Kings Monday night, per CBS Sports. The injury forced him to miss the end of  New York's Wednesday night matchup against the Dallas Mavericks, and will cost him the rest of the season.

Reddish should be healthy and fully recovered in about six weeks, which gives him plenty of time to prepare for the 2022-2023 season.

The 22-year-old was finally finding his footing on the New York team. According to CBS Sports, he averaged 7.0 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 16.1 minutes in his last 11 full games.

The young player is still working under his rookie contract. He signed a four-year $19,328,334 deal with the Atlanta Hawks in 2019. He was traded to the Knicks ahead of the 2022 NBA Trade Deadline along with Solomon Hill, a draft pick and cash considerations in exchange for Kevin Knox and a protected future first-round pick. Next season is Reddish's last year under the contract.

Despite Reddish's absence, the Knicks will continue to work their way out of the deep hole they dug this season. They are 12th in the Eastern Conference at 28-38. However, New York is currently cruising on a three-game winning streak, which is exactly what this team needs to focus on to turn its season around.
