The New York Knicks are lottery-bound again for the nth time in who-knows-how-many-years. But hey, if you can look at it on the bright side, there should be a hint of excitement since they’ll get another chance of drafting a future star.

Knicks insider Ian Begley recently gave a quick insight into who the team is liking so far:

Marc Berman of the New York Post talked about the same two players going to the Knicks in his column last week:

“If the lottery were held now, the Knicks would hold the ninth-best odds… If they stay at No. 9 after the pingpong balls dance, that would put them in position to draft either of two small forwards – 6-7 junior Mikal Bridges of Villanova or 6-6 sophomore Miles Bridges of Michigan State.”

Berman then quoted former Virginia Tech Hokies head coach and current ESPN analyst Seth Greenberg in praising Mikal:

“He has a chance to be really special… He’s 6-8. He can defend anyone. He can shoot it. He’s fundamentally sound. He’s got a real high basketball IQ. He’s got a toughness about him.”

Greenberg also had compliments on Miles, but he's not that high on the Michigan State Spartan:

“Not only can he really shoot the ball, but he’s a freakish athlete who can run the floor… He doesn’t have the feel for the game like Mikal or Draymond [Green]. He’s dynamic but not as good a perimeter defender.’’

Whether it's Mikal, Miles, or whoever, the Knicks would have to get the selection right, or at least be better than in years past. Their next highly-drafted rookie will need to show-off right away too with the team's All-Star, Kristaps Porzingis, out for at least the first half of the 2018-19 season.
