With time running out and the New York Knicks on the verge of completing a come-from-behind victory against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, Tim Hardaway Jr. decided to have some fun at the expense of one of the referees officiating the game.

As the referee rushed to get into position at the baseline for the final play of the night, he fell to the floor after getting inadvertently tripped by Serge Ibaka, who was about to attempt a 3-pointer.

Instead of defending Ibaka, Hardaway decided to keep his attention to the game official, and signalled “safe” as if he's an umpire calling safe.

Tim Hardawar Jr. had a monster game the other night, finishing with 38 points, six rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one blocked shot in 37 minutes of action. He was also instrumental during the furious 28-0 run the Knicks dropped on the Raptors in the third quarter, to give them the lead which they never relinquished.

Needles to say, he got the Knicks safe till the final buzzer.
