With the early pre-release of NBA 2K17, the final ratings to begin the season are finally fully available for players to view.

New York Knicks second year power forward Kristaps Porzingis was rated an 80 overall, one point over rookie Ben Simmons and eight points below reigning Rookie of the Year Karl-Anthony Towns.

When asked about his thoughts on the video game rating, he nonchalantly said:

“That’s OK; it’s not in my hands,” he told Ian Begley of ESPN.com. “I can affect what I can affect. It’s in my hands to prove I’m more than an 80.”

While the statement is somewhat contradictory, it's a much better attitude than other players who've taken offense at their ratings like a dart to the face.

The Latvian international was candid, admitting he's not the biggest fan of the video game franchise.

“I’m not the biggest fan of 2K myself. I’m more of a FIFA guy,” he said.

Kristaps Porzingis is coming off a great rookie campaign where he averaged 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. The Knicks will ask for even more from the 21-year-old given the pieces that have been added to the roster this summer.
