Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso was sporting a new look on Sunday night, as he helped his team to a 106-99 victory against the Detroit Pistons. The 25-year-old decided to put on a headband for the contest, which as turns out, might have been a lucky charm for the third-year man.

Following the win, Caruso talked about his newfound accessory, also giving credit to teammate JaVale McGee who apparently had a hand in Caruso's new look.

“My new stylist JaVale McGee has been helping me out,” Caruso said, via team insider Ryan Ward. “We just decided yesterday at practice after goofing around and just stuck with it today.”

True enough, Alex Caruso had a pretty impressive performance of the Lakers bench on Sunday, accounting for 13 points (5-of-9 from the field, 3-of-5 from the line), three rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 24 minutes of play. He provided a spark for L.A.'s second unit, as they collectively held off a second-half run by Detroit.

Caruso went on to say that given tonight's performance, he is now looking to keep the headband for the time being.

“Played good with it tonight, so I guess we're going to stay with it for now,” he added. “Not a one-time thing. We're going to stay with it.”

The 6-foot-5 point guard has been providing some quality minutes off the bench for the Lakers all season long. Caruso is currently averaging 5.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 steals in 19.6 minutes per game.
