Anthony Davis sent a message on his way into the arena in the bubble prior to the Los Angeles Lakers' third game of the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat.

Davis has been one of many players on the Lakers and throughout the NBA who have been outspoken in their support for Kaepernick and others in their fight for social justice. Also on the Lakers, LeBron James has been vocal of his support in many different causes, most notably in seeing law enforcement responsible for Louisville resident Breonna Taylor's death charged and brought to justice.

While Kaepernick's battle has been ongoing since 2016, the movement found renewed energy this summer following the death of George Floyd. The subsequent protests, which often included NBA players, were one of the issues discussed between the players and league in the restart negotiations.

Those talks resulted in the painting of “Black Lives Matter” at the top of the bubble courts, as well as players being allowed to wear messages on the back of their jerseys.

Following the death of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Bucks started a chain reaction of boycotts that shut down most sports once again at the end of August.

The NBA, and especially their players, have been at the forefront of the fight for social change in the country for the past five months, and with Davis' small but powerful statement today he shows that that effort is not going away until real change is seen.
