The Los Angeles Lakers are getting acclimated to their new surroundings in Orlando as they adjust to life in the NBA bubble. Superstar Anthony Davis is among those currently adapting to the unusual situation in Florida as teams get ready for the restart of the season, and he gave some insight on what it has been like in the bubble in terms of dealing with the daily quarantine protocols.

Davis spoke to the media on a Zoom call on Sunday evening and had some interesting to say about his new daily process.

“The protocols aren't that bad,” Davis said of the situation in the NBA bubble. “We get tested every day. It's not testing that no one can't handle or been exposed to already.”

“To be back on the floor with the guys was definitely a treat. We got another one today. This one is going to be even better, so I think a lot of guys are just excited to be back on the court with each other and get to play some organized basketball again.”

In order to make players feel as comfortable as possible while also preserving mental health in the bubble, the NBA has been providing certain activities and amenities for the Lakers and other teams to take advantage of during their time in Orlando.

Davis also spoke about those amenities and how he has chosen to stay in his room and play video games instead for the time being.

“I haven't enjoyed any of the amenities yet,” Davis said. “Some are open, and some aren't yet. I haven't been doing much. I've been in the room playing video games with other guys on the team. Everybody brought their gaming systems, so we've kind of been online playing against each other or being teammates.

“There's not much that we have done. Actually, today is our first day that we stepped foot out of the hotel, and we all realized how hot Orlando is, but I think, for the most part, guys are just sitting back in their room enjoying that me time and playing video games.”

Gaming will be something that many players lean on during their time in the NBA bubble. Lakers teammates Quinn Cook, Jared Dudley, Kyle Kuzma, JR Smith, and especially JaVale McGee, have been letting their presence on the gaming platforms playing games like NBA 2K20 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

These Lakers players, among many other NBA stars, will be living and breathing in this virtual gaming world during what will be an incredible amount of downtime in the bubble in the coming months.
