Even though Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis says he prefers to play the four position instead of the five, the All-Star knows the new era of basketball has become positionless.

Davis says at the end of the day, the Lakers just have to put five guys out there on the floor who know how to play with each other and win games at all costs.

“But the game has become so positionless, that you can put five guys on the floor and they just play,” Davis said at his introductory press conference, via Lakers.com. “You’ve seen that thing about (LeBron) running the point … that’s a super tall point guard … it really doesn’t matter. Just put five guys out there that fit best with each other, and go out and win.”

The Lakers' projected starting lineup for next season is LeBron James, Danny Green, Kyle Kuzma, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins.

LeBron, Davis and Kuzma will likely close games for the Purple and Gold. The same can be said for Green, although Los Angeles could opt to insert Avery Bradley into the closing lineup since he's an elite defender.

The main thing is Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has a lot of lineups he can work with in 2019-20. Los Angeles has solid depth on the roster.
