Los Angeles Lakers All-Star forward Anthony Davis is set to throw the ceremonial pitch for the Los Angeles Dodgers' ‘Laker Night' on August 20, according to a report by SB Nation's Christian Rivas.

Davis, acquired by the Lakers in a June trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, is set to take center stage by helping the franchise contend for a championship. He'll play alongside four-time MVP LeBron James and rising star Kyle Kuzma.

Drafted first overall by the Pelicans in 2012, Davis has career averages of 23.7 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.4 blocks. He's a six-time All-Star and a three-time member of the All-NBA First team. He's also expected to be one of the contenders for the MVP honors this upcoming season, something that he hasn't won in his entire seven-year career.

The Dodgers usually let a Laker newcomer throw the first-pitch during their annual Laker Nights. Over the past four seasons, the Purple and Gold's first-round picks were given the honors to do so, D'Angelo Russell, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Moe Wagner. Unfortunately, all of them are no longer with the team.

Of course, the same thing cannot be said about AD, who is going to be the franchise's cornerstone for years to come. He will be the face of the franchise once LeBron retires or leaves, and the goal is for him to rejuvenate the team's glory days.

So it is only fitting that the Dodgers let AD throw the first pitch this year, and hopefully, it's a start of great things to come.
