The Los Angeles Lakers introduced new head coach Darvin Ham on Monday, as the franchise's first big move of the NBA offseason became official. Ham didn't wait long to get to work either. The newest Lakers head coach kicked off his tenure by making some changes to the team's coaching staff. Ham removed some of LeBron James' assistant coaches on Tuesday, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

McMenamin reports that Ham informed Lakers assistants David Fizdale, Mike Penberthy and John Lucas III that they will not be coming back this NBA offseason. One of those assistants, Fizdale, has had close ties to LeBron James in his career, as the former was an assistant with the Miami Heat during James' tenure in South Beach.

The new head coach reportedly already filled one spot in his staff, with former Detroit Pistons All-Star Rasheed Wallace expected to join the team in an assistant coach role.
It's not surprising that Ham is bringing in new voices on the sidelines, as James and the Lakers seemed to tune out the coaching staff at times this past season. They were also one of the worst teams in the NBA on both ends of the floor.
Ham took the first steps towards turning things around with his coaching staff overhaul on Tuesday.
