Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard is excited to play with superstar big man Anthony Davis in Los Angeles.

Howard thinks he and Davis will “play well off each other.” Davis has made it known he wants to play the power forward position for the Lakers. Howard will back up JaVale McGee at center.

“We have a lot of weapons,” Howard said, via The Orange County Register. “Playing with a guy like Anthony Davis, I think we’ll really play well off each other. He’s amazing. I’ve watched him grow over the years, and I’m just excited to be able to learn from him, but also give him some things that I’ve learned over my 15 years of being in the NBA.”

Dwight Howard will have a small role on the Lakers this time around. He's also on a very short leash. The second he becomes a distraction in Los Angeles, the Lakers will cut Howard, who is on a non-guaranteed deal.

Last season with the Washington Wizards, Howard played in just nine games. He underwent a lumbar microdiscectomy in November and missed the rest of the season. Howard averaged 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds with the Wizards.

The Lakers’ projected starting lineup for next season is LeBron James, Danny Green, Kyle Kuzma, Anthony Davis and JaVale McGee. Davis prefers a true big next to him during the regular season.

He'll have McGee and Howard by his side.
