Tensions were high after Frank Vogel's decision to sit Russell Westbrook late in the Los Angeles Lakers' loss to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.

But Vogel and Westbrook seemed to have buried the hatchet right away for the Lakers next game two days later, a relatively easy win over the Orlando Magic, 116-105.

The Lakers coach was asked about he and Russell Westbrook moving past the incident during the postgame presser.

Via Spectrum SportsNet:

“Russ is a high character guy,” responded the Lakers coach. “We knew we were going to respond. We communicated afterwards to make sure that we understood what was going on. We were just coaching to win the game and to turn the page onto Orlando. He did a great job maintaining that focus and we're all committed to this group getting the job done.”

Russell Westbrook played a team-high 35 minutes against the Magic, scoring 18 points and leading the Lakers in rebounds (11), assists (7) and steals (3). He was relatively efficient and didn't have too many turnovers on the evening as he helped seal LA's win.

“We still believe in what we can be,” Vogel continued. “It's been bumpy throughout the course of the year – but we're committed.”

There are a lot of question marks surrounding the Lakers for the next couple of weeks as the NBA trade deadline looms and rumors swirl on Frank Vogel's job security. But for at least one night, against a lowly Eastern Conference opponent, all was well in Laker land.
