Isiah Thomas made headlines on Friday following a noteworthy debut for the Los Angeles Lakers. LA got blown out by the Minnesota Timberwolves, 110-92, but IT's performance proved to be the lone bright spot of an otherwise disappointing evening for LA.

Thomas has now taken to Twitter to express his gratitude for the outpouring of support he has received throughout his journey towards an NBA comeback:

The new Lakers guard has nothing but love for the fans, who have given him support and encouragement through these past couple of years. On Friday, Thomas actually received a standing ovation from the Timberwolves home crowd as he checked into the game for the first time following an eight-month hiatus from the league.

What we can say for sure is that after all the hard work he put in to get back to where he is at right now, Isaiah Thomas isn't going to be resting on his laurels. He's currently on a 10-day deal with the Lakers and we're certain that he will do everything he can to make the most out of this opportunity. LA is decimated with injuries right now,  which could open the door for Thomas to secure a rest-of-the-season deal with the team. How we would all love to see that, right?
