The Los Angeles Lakers are a talented young team with what appears to be a promising future ahead. Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Brandon Ingram make up a core of players for Los Angeles that could propel them back into the playoff picture in the very near future.

During a visit to the Spectrum SportsNet studios in El Segundo recently, Lakers legend James Worthy spoke to ClutchPoints about a few different topics including which player on the current squad has impressed him the most thus far.

“Kuzma has been a big surprise,” Worthy said. “Being able to come in as a rookie and do what he has done. Not really having shown that at Utah that much. Shown flashes.

“I've been impressed with Lonzo as well. He as a very high I.Q. for the game. I always think if he had a bunch of pure shooters around him what it would be like. He definitely has a gift for moving the ball and moving the defense. I know he struggled a little bit early, but I think he's come on.

“Talk about social media, all the stuff he's had to play through is a pretty impressive thing.”

With the way Ball and Kuzma have played up to this point, the team has a couple of stars in the making along with a much-improved player in Ingram. Although the Lakers are playing to make a major splash in NBA free agency this summer, the storied franchise has definitely the building blocks of a team that could become a force in the Western Conference sooner rather than later.

Ball has proven to be the type of point guard that can make an impact on both ends of the floor while playing a contagious pass-first style. Kuzma, however, is born scorer. The Utah product has shown the ability to not only be the team's leading scorer for years to come but also the player to count as a closer.

Both of these players have a long way to go with a lot to learn, but the future is bright in Los Angeles as long as they stay the course while continuing to improve along the way.
