Los Angeles Lakers forward Julius Randle didn’t get the payday he was looking for this summer when the Lakers opted against signing him to a contract extension. However, by the looks of his wardrobe choice, he still has a strong desire to get his money.

Per Bill Oram of the OC Register:

Julius Randle walked into arena wearing a sweatshirt that said “PAY ME” on the back. Asked him about it and he seemed unaware of that fact and said he bought it last year. When I said some may interpret it as some kind of statement, he said, “You can interpret it how you want.”

Randle has had the misfortune of not been a starter for the first time in his career this season during a contract year, but he has still been putting up creditable performances. He’s averaging 11.3 points and 6.9 rebounds in 20.3 minutes off the bench. Those numbers are likely enough to earn him a decent contract next summer.

However, it's becoming increasingly unlikely that the Lakers will be the ones to pay him. There are rumors of a potential move out of Los Angeles in the near future and given the Lakers' plans of opening up cap room to chase max-level free agents, taking care of Randle probably won't be their top priority if he does last until the end of the season.
