Kendrick Perkins ripped Royce White in defense of Jared Dudley, noting that the veteran fits perfectly with the Los Angeles Lakers. Via Twitter, Perkins sent out a series of tweets to analyze White's comments on Dudley. White made some pretty interesting comments on how LeBron James and the Lakers passed on Carmelo Anthony and got Dudley.
Perkins admitted that he had to think twice before joining in on the discussion after seeing White's veins in his neck.
I had to watch this video a few times before I decided to give my input on this and all I have to say is somebody needs to drug test this dude because he’s too aggressive and Do y’all see his veins in his neck?! I’m not rolling with this at all! https://t.co/rlV1OBcZnJ

Perkins believes that Dudley is the type of player who'll do the little things for his team. He also reminded Perkins of James Posey — a player who can defend and knock down shots from deep. Posey was Perkins' teammate during his stint with the Boston Celtics when they won the title.
I think @JaredDudley619 is the perfect fit for the Lakers! Knows his ROLE and he’s going to do all the lil things that don’t show up in the stat sheet but help teams win games!Reminds me of a James Posey of 08 Celtics!!! 🤷🏾♂️

Let’s not use the mental illness discussion to cover up you going viral talking reckless about someone who earned his roster spot. You can have your opinion but it’s how you went about it. Tearing down one to big up another ain’t it.

Perkins believes that the addition of Anthony or Dudley will affect Kyle Kuzma — seen as the Lakers' third scoring option behind Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
It’s mostly about how it impacts Kuz vs. who is better between Melo/Dudley. The perfect fit is the one that is the best blend of mentor to Kuz and value to the team.
Dudley is proven based on what he did in Brooklyn, Melo has never been in that role. Better fit, not talent!

For Perkins, not only is Dudley the best fit because of his playstyle, but he can also serve as a mentor to Kuzma. He's not discrediting the talent that Anthony has. He simply is not suitable for this year's version of the Purple and Gold.
Do you agree with Perkins' points? Does Dudley fit like a glove with the rest of the Lakers? Or like White, do you believe that Anthony is being ‘blackballed?'
