On Tuesday night, one Los Angeles Lakers rising star and a future first-ballot Hall of Famer met for dinner at a West Hollywood steakhouse.

Lakers rookie forward Kyle Kuzma joined legendary shooting guard Kobe Bryant and got acquainted with one another, according to an article by Bill Oram of the Orange County Register.

“I want to be good,” Kuzma said before Wednesday night's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers. “Why not learn from one of the best? So I took that approach. Of course, it was cool. But I had a lot of questions and I was really excited just to get to know him, meet him, learn from him.”

Kuzma said that he wanted to learn from Bryant on how to translate his early NBA success into something more.

“What was he doing as a young player to make those steps that he made to get from here to here,” Kuzma said. “From here to here. Just what he did as a young player or what he wanted to learn back then. Stuff like that.”

One thing that Kuzma really took out of his time spent with Bryant was the importance of a relentless work ethic.

“Just work,” Kuzma said. “That’s cliché, but that’s what he stands for, that’s what he values. That’s what I value. So that was really the message.”

What did the legendary Bryant order for dinner? According to Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints, Kuzma happily revealed that information.

Kuzma seemed to really take the advice Bryant gave him, as the rising star forward went off for a career-high 24 points and nearly pulled off a massive posterizing dunk over 76ers star center Joel Embiid.

Embiid got the last laugh as the 76ers eventually edged the Lakers 115-109 and had a ridiculous game en route to 46 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and a whopping seven blocked shots.
