Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma has reached an endorsement deal with GOAT, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic. GOAT, which is the largest authentic sneaker reselling platform in the world, announced that Kuzma will serve as the company's first brand ambassador on and off the court.

Kuzma, 23, will wear various shoes from the company throughout this season. The endorsement deal is the first athlete partnership with a sneaker reselling platform.

Prior to this season, the NBA had restrictions on sneaker colors. This season, however, players will be allowed to freely express their sense of style on the court, as the league has changed the rule.

Kuzma says his new deal with GOAT will give him the opportunity to acquire some of the shoes he's always dreamed of.

“GOAT has inspired me to start collecting more seriously and build my style around sneakers,” Kuzma said via prnewswire.com. “People assume that, as an NBA athlete, you can get access to any kind of sneaker you want. When in reality, it's hard to get the exclusive releases or shoes from the past, and feel confident they're authentic. GOAT gives me a second chance at not only the limited releases I missed, but also the shoes I wasn't able to afford growing up.”

In their own words, GOAT thoroughly authenticates all sneakers by hand. All sellers are vetted and all listings are reviewed by our team of trained specialists.

Kuzma and the Lakers kick off the 2018-19 regular season on Thursday with a match-up against the Portland Trail Blazers. Tip-off inside The Moda Center is set for 10:30 p.m. EST with TNT having live broadcast coverage.

Let's see which pair of kicks Kuzma laces up first.
