The Los Angeles Lakers have already interviewed former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue and Philadelphia 76ers assistant coach Monty Williams; however, they appear unready to make a decision.

Lue had his second interview on Wednesday, while Williams had his turn for a second meeting on Thursday. But while the search appears focused on the two candidates, Broderick Turner of Los Angeles Times reported that the Lakers did not offer coaching job to Lue and Williams.

According to the report, Lue and Williams were confident of the way they presented themselves to the Lakers front office contingent. Team owner Jeanie Buss, general manager Rob Pelinka, co-owners Joey Buss and Jesse Buss were present during the interviews.

However, the Lakers did not even give a timetable on when the franchise will announce their new coach. Los Angeles is looking for a new coach after firing Luke Walton, who eventually signed a coaching deal with the Sacramento Kings just a day after he parted ways with the Purple and Gold.

Williams reportedly was very likable during the interviews, and the former New Orleans Pelicans head coach was also impressed with how the Lakers presented different things about the franchise. He has also connection to superstar LeBron James after working together with Team USA before.

Lue remains a strong candidate, as he is the only option with a championship to boast. He won a title with James during their time together in Cleveland in 2016. Aside from Lue and Williams, the Lakers are also considering Miami Heat assistant coach Juwan Howard for the coaching vacancy.
