The Los Angeles Lakers are off to a good start. Their NBA Summer League just pulled off a wild one over the Phoenix Suns.

Finding themselves down the entire fourth quarter, they battled back in the final minutes. Mac McClung cut the deficit to two with a pair of clutch free-throws at the 1:08 mark, then knotted the game with a clutch mid-range jumper to force a deadlock at 71 apiece. With the Lakers down one after a Suns free-throw, it was Austin Reaves who came to the rescue.

Check out the epic putback game-winner from Reaves and McClung's ice-cold jumper that tied it:

The Lakers may have added another superstar in Russell Westbrook and a ton of steady additions to surround their Big 3, but they're losing their cult hero in Alex Caruso. Mac McClung has people hoping they have the next one on the roster, both with his crunch time heroics and unexpected bounce above the rim.

McClung struggled for most of the game, making just two of his nine shot attempts. He finished with 10 points and four rebounds for the Lakers. But in the end, he came up big when it mattered most.

Austin Reaves' final bucket was worth two of his 11 points in the contest. He's signed on for a two-way deal with the Lakers and hopes to find his way on the big roster. If he continues to make winning plays like that, he's bound to get a shot. Maybe he gives McClung a run for his money?
