The 2018 NBA All-Star Game will take place at the Staples Center this season with the Los Angeles Lakers and L.A. Clippers hosting the annual event yet again.

Along with the uncertainty on whether the Lakers will have a representative in the game, Larry Nance Jr. gave some insight on whether he'll be competing in the Slam Dunk Contest during Media Day for the team on Monday.

“I've thought about it,” Nance said about the Slam Dunk Contest. “I haven't come up with an answer yet. It's pretty cool it's in L.A., so I think it would be a unique opportunity.”

Last two years, Nance didn't compete due to injury concerns. The Wyoming product has had knee issues that have prevented him from putting his name in the running although he's clearly been itching for a chance to showcase incredibly leaping ability.

With NBA All-Star Weekend not taking place until February of next year, Nance has some time to think about whether he'll want to throw his hat into the ring in front of the Lakers faithful at Staples Center. As long as he's able to stay healthy, there might be a good chance of him doing so as fans of the storied franchise will be hoping he does, especially if the team doesn't have an All-Star this season.

The Slam Dunk Contest will take place on Feb. 17 along with the Three-Point Contest which former Lakers guard Nick Young participated in last year in New Orleans.
