LeBron James is a freak of nature. The Los Angeles Lakers turned 37 last year, but his level of performance has remained absolutely phenomenal. A few days removed from his 56-point explosion against the Warriors, LeBron once again pulled out a magnificent performance from his bag of tricks.

Against a couple of his former Lakers teammates in Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, LeBron James flexed his muscles again, dropping 50 points to power the team to a win. His fifty-burger momentarily put him on top of the league in terms of scoring average per game. (via StatMuse)

Even prior to this game, LeBron has hovered near the top of the league in terms of scoring averages per game. It's a testament to the Lakers star's greatness that he's been able to maintain his incredible scoring even despite his old age. His scoring prowess is one of the few things that kept the team afloat during this tumultuous season.

It's a bit worrying, however, that the Lakers needed a fifty-point bomb from LeBron to escape with a win over the Wizards. The reason they took Russell Westbrook in the offseason was mainly to alleviate LeBron's workload in the regular season. Unfortunately, Westbrook's struggles have forced James to return back to his old carry form from Cleveland.

Still, a win is a win. With the Lakers struggling to maintain position in the race for a play-in spot, every win matters. Fans are just hoping that LeBron won't get burnt out before the playoffs even start.
