Forward Brandon Ingram is part of the Los Angeles Lakers prized young core alongside Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Josh Hart. From his rookie season of 9.4 points per game to 16.1 points per game during his sophomore year, the former second overall pick is bound for a breakout performance this upcoming season.

Lately, Ingram has garnered some attention regarding his workouts and training. Unfortunately, it is not about the work he has put before the season starts, but the apparel he wears when he trains. He was seen sporting Adidas for his workout on Instagram.

Among those who noticed is Nike’s most important ambassador and Ingram's fellow Los Angeles Laker, LeBron James, who had a hilarious reply to the former Duke Blue Devils' Instagram post (h/t Harrison Faigen of SB Nation).

LeBron: “Lil bro Lakers apparel is Nike now you know.”

Brandon Ingram responded: “chill cuz”

It feels like ages since the league was sporting Adidas apparel. As it officially took over, Nike has been the league sponsor since 2017.

However, the real highlight is LeBron’s influence on the young guns of the Lakers. Despite the comedic exchange, it clearly mirrors the current state of the franchise.

LeBron James was the biggest free agent signed by the Lakers in quite some time. Despite the Hollywood migration not being a surprise to many, the change of pace and season from championship contending team to a young one is certainly a first for James.

The Lakers’ future is clearly in the hands of James and it’s promising young core. Only time will tell how will that materialize this season.
